At least one person has been contaminated with radiation, it is believed be to an radiation victim and later wrapped in a blanket at Fukushima Nuclear Plant Japan. All suspected people who are affected radiation contamination being evacuated on emergency basis.

What is a meltdown?

After this terrific natural disaster at Japan, we are hearing a term meltdown for which most of us are not being aware off. A meltdown is what in which fuel core melts in a nuclear reactor or any device which release the nuclear power. Just assume it is a nuclear reactor, when it’s fuel core melts this releases dangerous amounts of radiation.

The impact of these radiations is dependent on nuclear reactor structure and intensity of dangerous amounts of radiation released, this energy is produces in form of waves or particles. Mostly the containment structure like nuclear reactor prevents the radioactivity from escaping while there is little possibility that those core become too hot which may burn the floor or containment structure which may go deep in earth.

Usually Nuclear Reactors are built in with sophisticated emergency systems which do not allow to happen this kind of accidents.

The cooling capabilities has been lost at Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant reactor no. 2 which is confirmed by Govt official. The problem at plant reactor No. 2 has been detected Monday afternoon, the incident seems to happen after the explosion of reactor no. 3 building.

Yukio Edano the Chief Cabinet Secretary said:

“We think that the hydrogen explosion in (the building housing) reactor No. 3 caused the cooling system of reactor No. 2 to stop working,”

Engineers are working hard to to reduce the pressure as water levels re falling at reactor no. 2, Engineers are working to release gas from reactor no. 2 and trying to inject the seawater in it.
